About License Renewals
The District of Columbia Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing has introduced online license renewals for all licensees eligible for renewal.
Individuals now have the option to submit their license renewal applications via the internet. Using online services to submit renewal applications reduces mailing and processing time, and produces fewer opportunities for data errors.
Licensees wishing to utilize Pearson VUE’s online license renewal services can access the website by going to the Continuing Education Registry Licensing Look-up, accessing the desired board, and selecting “Online License Renewals.” They can then log-in by entering either their company FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number) or their individual last name, their license prefix and number, and unique PIN number located on the “Renewal Data Sheet.” Follow the on-screen prompts for easy submission of renewal applications.
Online license renewal applications require a credit card payment in the form of Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. Fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. If you wish to pay by check, you cannot submit your application online, and must submit your paper application through the mail. Faxed applications will not be accepted.
Upon submission, applications will go through a series of checks for accuracy and completeness. Licensees will be contacted if additional information is needed.
If a renewal submission requires an attachment(s) to complete the process, the required documentation along with page 1 of the confirmation notice must be mailed to the following address:
Attn: Board of insert board name
8401 Corporate Drive
Landover, MD 20785
The following conditions require attachments:
- You are changing your name.
Legal documentation must be provided.
- You answered “Yes” to any of the screening questions.
Full information and complete details must be provided.
Your application cannot be fully processed until all materials are received. Attachments cannot be accepted via fax. Please allow two weeks for processing and mailing. If your application has errors upon initial processing, Pearson VUE will contact you for error resolution. However, in some situations, Pearson VUE will forward applications to the Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing for review, and this may result in a delay. Once your application has been fully processed, you will receive your new license in the mail.
Please remember to mail in copies of CE transcripts, when required by the Board. Transcripts are subject to audit by the Board.
Customer Care can be reached by calling the appropriate number from the list provided below. Calling Pearson VUE will not expedite processing of your application.
