Getting Started
How do I log-in and register?
- Have you registered for an APA certification exam since the Fall of 2002?
If you registered during this period you will already have a Promissor ID and Password. If you do not remember your ID and password, you can request an email reminder. To get registered see FAQ: What are the steps if I tested DURING the Spring ’03 window — and I have an account? - Never Tested or Registered?
If you have never taken an APA exam or registered for one, you will need to set up a test-taker account. See FAQ: What are the steps if I tested BEFORE the Spring window and need an account? - Tested BEFORE the 2003 Spring window?
If you have not taken an APA exam for a while — and your last activity was PRIOR to the spring window, you will need to set up a test-taker account. See FAQ: What are the steps if I tested BEFORE the Spring window and need an account?
What information or items do I need to have in-hand to register online?
- Ability make an online payment by credit card or electronic check.
- Your APA member number, if you plan to use it, at the time of your reservation. NOTE: You need to enter the APA member number when you make your reservation. You will NOT be able to go back to your completed reservation and add in the APA member number to receive the discount.
- The exact name of test you will be taking.
- A way to record your log-in and password in case you need to change your reservation.
Steps to Register
What are the steps if I tested DURING the Spring ’03 window — and I have an account?
- Just log-in — Your log-in ID is already set up
- Select the Sponsor (American Payroll Association)
- You’ll see a confirmation screen and then you just “continue”
- Select a test (from the dropdown menu)
- Select a test center (page will refresh)
- Select a date and time (page will refresh)
- Review your shopping cart
- Pay for the APA exam (required at time of exam registration)
- Print receipt and receive an email confirmation
NOTE: Your email confirmation will be from “gtn support” and the subject line will be “CATGlobal Testing Network Confirmation.” If you forgot your password you can request an email reminder.
What are the steps if I tested BEFORE the Spring window and need an account?
- You’ll create a test-taker account
- Your account information is verified
- You’ll see a confirmation screen and then you just “continue”
- Select the Sponsor (American Payroll Association)
- You’ll see a confirmation screen and then you just "continue"
- Select a test (from the dropdown menu)
- Select a test center (page will refresh)
- Select a date and time (page will refresh)
- Review your shopping cart
- Pay for the APA exam (required at time of exam registration)
- Print receipt and receive an email confirmation

How do I receive confirmation of my reservation?
Once you have completed and paid for your reservation you receive an email confirmation notice. The email will be from “gtn support” and the subject line will be “CATGlobal Testing Network Confirmation.”

Is there anything else I need to know when I register?
There are specific required items that must be brought with you to the Promissor Test Center in order to take your exam. These requirements are defined in your APA candidate handbook.
Losing IDs and Passwords
What do I do if I lose my ID or password?
You may recover a lost password by clicking on “Lost Password”; on the right side of your registration page under User Info.
Refunds and Cancellations
Can I change my reservation?
You may add, reschedule, or cancel a test by returning to the www.CATGlobal.com Web site and logging in with your ID and password. Choose from the options of “Schedule a Test,” “View Schedule,” and “Test Records” that appear on the left (side) navigation.
What if I need to cancel?
To cancel a test and receive a refund on your credit card, you must cancel at least 96 hours before your exam appointment. Exceptions to this policy may be made due to documented illness, injury, or death of a family member.
