IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR BAIL BOND SURETY AGENTS

Effective 1/1/09 - all new/reinstatement applicants will need to provide with their application, a letter from an insurance company that shall state, at a minimum, the name, date of birth and social security number of the applicant and the date that the appointment to represent the insurance company became effective. (The insurance company may at its discretion, condition the effective date of the appointment upon the issuance of the license).

Effective Immediately-
Any surety line of authority bail bond license expiring 1/1/09 with no appointment will be denied.
Any surety line of authority bail bond license expiring 1/1/10 with no appointment will be denied.

Effective January 1, 2007 — Mandatory Online Processing, Legal Status Requirements, and Non-Issuance of Temporary Licenses

The Colorado Division of Insurance will switch to an all-electronic process for all new license and renewal applications, agency registrations, letter of certification requests, address changes (excluding changes from one nonresident state to another nonresident state), and CE Course banking by providers as of January 1, 2007. Paper applications/requests for these transactions will be returned, unprocessed, if postmarked after December 31, 2006. Refer to Bulletin No. 05-06 at www.dora.state.co.us.
